Information
Zinc oxide (ZnO formula) comprises oxygen compounds of zinc oxide. White powder, light yellow. When heated, the yellow, but upon cooling again acquire a white color. It is practically insoluble in water, but the acid and the strong base are dissolved, thus amphoteric. Insoluble in aqueous sodium chloride solution. The damping effect of the air absorbs carbon dioxide.
General usage
Zinc oxide is a white powder (mineral) which is mainly used in cosmetics. It is added to the sunscreen, soaps, makeup. It is also used as an antiseptic protective powder against scald a child or buttocks to the bleaching creams.
