Information
Olivem® is a PEG-free nonionic W / O emulsifier based on hydrogenated olive oil and esterified with sorbitol. The extraordinary feature that Olivem® 900 is based on olive oil makes it a gentle and gentle alternative. It can be used as a vegetable alternative to lanolin and wax wax alcohol, with the advantage that it absorbs very well and does not leave a sticky feeling as is known from lanolin. It is preferably used for high fat phase emulsions.Usage
It is used for creams, lotions, oil gels, decorative cosmetics.Processing: as a solo emulsifier in the used concentration of 10 - 30% fat phase.
Processing requires some special features:
Tip 1: Olivem® 900 is absolutely necessary at a temperature of about 80 ° C for the fat and water phases (check by thermometer). Emulsions benefit the patient, long-term cooling with stirring; Rapid cooling in a cold water bath is not suitable here and leads to phase separation.
Tip 2: The aqueous phase should be added dropwise and slowly to the fat phase.
Tip 3: The emulsions with Olivem® 900 tend to cure within the next 48 hours.
