Information
The cupuacu butter is obtained from the dried seeds of the cupuacu tree by cold pressing. The ripe fruits are not picked but fall from the cupuacu tree, then they are sun-dried and pressed. The resulting mass is poured into special containers in which the cupuacu butter settles on the bottom. The liquid that collects on the surface is then skimmed off. The cupuacu tree is native to Brazil and can grow up to 9 m tall. The fruits are very similar to that of the cocoa tree.
